The class was tasked with designing and 3D modeling a bike frame in SolidWorks. The process started with numerous sketch concepts that allowed me to explore a variety of different ideas. Once the design was finalized, I proceeded to refine the sketches before modeling and assembling each component of the bike in SolidWorks. The finished 3D model was then taken into KeyShot, where I selected various CMF (color, material, finish) specifications for the final renderings.

The Process
Early in the design process, we were tasked with exploring various component forms. We sketched a wide range of frame, fork, and seat designs in order to familiarize ourselves with the product. Further along in the process, many of us ran into design limitations when working in SolidWorks. Ultimately, we learned that we needed to tweak our original designs to make them more achievable.
